Named “Spirit of the ANZACs” this iconic photo is a truly unique piece of ANZAC memorabilia and it’s available now.
The kangaroo shaking hands with an Australian soldier celebrates the role of the kangaroo as our mascot during wartimes. A mascot was said to have encourage morale whilst being stationed overseas, in this case Cairo, Egypt.
To complement the incredible black and white imagery, I chose a rich, brown textured, timber frame with a light brown trim. To help ground the vintage imagery into the present, I’ve used a V groove technique into the matboard.
This is a beautiful piece of ANZAC memorabilia and it would make the perfect start to a Militaria collection or an elegant addition to a home theatre or office. I feel like this is a piece every Aussie should have!
